GVS August Employee of the Month: Jamie Sturgell QMA Staffing Coordinator

We are proud to recognize Jamie Sturgell, QMA Staffing Coordinator, as Greenwood Village South’s Employee of the Month.

Jamie has been a valued member of the GVS team since 2011 and plays an essential role in supporting our clinical operations. In her role, she helps ensure appropriate staffing coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week across all levels of care, including the Pavilion, Manor, and Arms Clinic. Her role requires tremendous organization, flexibility, communication, and commitment to supporting both residents and team members.

Over the past month, Jamie demonstrated those qualities in an especially meaningful way. During a period with a manager vacancy, she stepped beyond the responsibilities of her primary role to represent nursing in several resident and family care plan meetings. She took on this additional responsibility while continuing to manage the demands of staffing coordination, helping provide consistency and support for residents, families, and the team.

Several of those conversations were emotional and difficult. Jamie approached them with compassion, patience, and genuine consideration for what residents and families were experiencing. She listened, communicated thoughtfully, and helped families feel heard and supported. Her ability to combine professionalism with genuine care is a wonderful example of what it means to make people feel important and create meaningful experiences through exceptional hospitality.

Jamie also demonstrates what it means to hold ourselves and one another accountable. When the team needed someone to step forward, she accepted additional responsibility, followed through, and helped ensure residents and families continued to receive the communication and attention they deserved.

Jamie’s willingness to serve wherever she is needed, her dedication to her team, and the compassion she shows residents and families reflect the very best of Greenwood Village South.
